Living proof that this product works!
I had blood tests last month at the doctor, I have serious joint problems and presently I am taking medicine and cortisone shots in multiple joints so my doc wanted to take blood tests. I was also feeling a bit 'toxic' to put it mildly, had zero energy and completely lost my appetite. The blood test came back a bit elevated and my doc gave me a diet to follow and was told to go buy milk thistle and come back in a month for a follow up. Well, I went to the health food store and bought this stuff since the guy said it contains milk thistle and other stuff that will help, and I also bought vit b6, vit C and vit E, and something called NAC and ALA. I took the liver regen only the first day and vit e because I didn't want to take different stuff the first day. The next day, I felt so much better and not 'toxic' at all. Like night and day. My appetite returned with a vengeance. This stuff actually works. Im waiting on my next round of blood tests, but I can already tell they will...

My opinion
I've been using this NOW Vitamins Liver Regenerator for years. When I run out, I feel it. Truly, out of all the supplements I take now or have ever taken, this is probably the most noticeably helpful. I highly recommend it. The formula is the right proportion of the right liver-fixers like milk thistle, bupleurum, L-glutathione--the usual suspects. But this takes the guess-work out of taking the supplements separately. Also, the price is about 1/3 of what equivalent liver-fixers cost (I use the term "liver-fixer" lightly, but knowing that the liver is an organ that repairs itself--given the right chemical assistance).

What is a liver cleanse that you have actually used?

A doctor told me I need to do a liver cleanse. Is there one that you have actually used? How long did it take? Did you have to be close to a bathroom for more than 24 hours? I have a few weeks to figure out how to do this until I see him again.

Will doing a colon and liver cleanse reduce the effectiveness of the birth control pill?

I'm thinking about doing a colon cleanse and then a liver cleanse, but I am taking oral contraceptives and need to know if doing either of these two things will make the pill ineffective for the time being. I don't want to get pregnant!

As far as the whole Birth Control and cleanse products issue, there hasn't been any absolute concrete proof that one affects the other in any predictable way. However, both the colon and liver cleanse put stress on the liver. It is not wise to do both
