Works...with costs.
Kirkland Minoxidil, so far, has been working for me. I am 28 years old, and before using this product had a large bald spot on the top of my head, and a lot of thinning in the front. I am almost at the two month mark, and have had a decent amount of hair regrowth. Both on the crown of my head (bald spot), and the front area. The product suggests that you should not use it in the front, but let's face it, that's what more people will be looking at when they are looking at your face. Anyway, the hair isn't as long and thick as the rest of my hair, but it has begun filling in those balding areas despite. They say it takes a good solid couple months to see the full effect, and I had to stop using it for almost a week when I forgot to pack it on a vacation. I imagine if I had, the hair would be thicker, and my bald areas would be even more filled in. This progress comes at a cost though. The product is a great value compared to Rogaine, especially when they basically are the same things...

well, so far so good
I've been using it for 10 weeks now and I am definitely seeing some new thin hairs in the hairline! I got this product because i read a reviewer say he saw new growth in his hairline and i thought what the heck. It's begun to do the same for me . . . a great price so you don't lose much if it doesn't work . . . I've read up on Minoxidil a lot and i know it takes about 6-8 months to see real change but the early signs all point to a positive result.I have reordered already.Recommended.

Hair Loss Sucks
I am a 21 year old male and there is definitely hair loss in my family. I didn't think I would lose hair as early as I was (around 20). I figure it was due to stress because I'm currently attending college and I wasn't ready for it. Anyways after I started using this product I saw immediate results within weeks. There definitely some side affects though that you all should be aware about. Within a week of using this product I started having trouble sleeping but it wasn't that bad. I also started to get color change in my hair which I wasn't expecting. I also feel at times that I am more tired than usual (not entirely sure if its the product or just me). My hair was turning lighter and almost seemed like it was thinning also. The worst part of it all though is the product dries out your scalp a lot and you start getting dandruff which I've never had before trying this product. Seeing as about 65% of American men can expect some level of hair loss by the time they reach 35 and 40% of everyone who are experiencing balding are women, going bald affects a huge chunk of the population. But maybe not for much longer. Researchers in Japan have made major headway–pun intended–on finding a cure for baldness.

The team, using bald mice as test subjects, genetically engineered hair follicles and when transplanted under the skin of the mice, the follicles were able to fuse with other tissues and become actual hair. Almost like magic. A finding like this could mean there might be fewer cases of balding and in the case of an already bald patient, higher quality hair transplants.

Aided in growth, after transplantation into the mouse’s skin, by the researchers using nylon string, the hair was also able to grow in an organized fashion. This isn’t the first time the team has created follicles and hair shafts using mice, but it is the first time the follicles were able to organize themselves into groups and then generate normal hair growth, making this study successful at least on those findings.

Even though the technological advancement only happened on a rodent, this new development may mean that humans could look forward to a hair-filled future.

Not only were Japanese scientists able to regrow hair in the study, which was published April 17 in Nature Communications, but they were able to manipulate the density and color of the locks.

"Our study provides a substantial contribution to the development of bioengineering technologies that will enable future regenerative therapy for hair loss caused by injury or by diseases such as alopecia and androgenic alopecia," researchers wrote in the study.

Researchers cultivated two different kinds of mice hair follicles and transplanted them on a mouse. Three weeks later, 74 percent of the hair follicles had grown into black hair. When human hair follicles cells were transplanted, human hair grew. The hair continued to regenerate after it fell out due to normal growth cycles.

Hair loss is a very common problem in both men and women. By 35, two-thirds of American men will experience some sort of noticeable hair loss, according to the American Hair Loss Association. At 50, 85 percent of men will have significantly thinning hair. Thought typically considered to be a male disease, 40 percent of women make up hair loss sufferers. The disease is not life-threatening, but it can cause many emotional problems because of the physical changes.
