Happy Husband!!
My husband swears by this product. Like most of us he felt uncomfortable taking a lot of prescription drugs (side effects etc., not to mention the cost!). He has been able to replace 3 prescription drugs with this one product to manage his prostate condition.

Propolis , resin used by bees to patch up holes in hives, is already a mainstay of natural medicine. Propolis has been long used for conditions ranging from sore throats and allergies to burns and cancer. But the compound has not gained acceptance in mainstream medicine due to scientific questions about its effect on cells.

A newly published study furthers the exploration of caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) and its potential anticarcinogen and antioxidant properties. The demonstrated ability of CAPE to stop prostate cancer tumors from growing may soon have it earning a spot among other natural remedies for prostate cancer treatment .
Leading prostate cancer expert, Dr. David Samadi, explains how this glue-like substance used by bees to repair hives is believed to work. "In this study, CAPE appeared to block the prostate cancer tumor cells from finding their next meal. When the cells can't identify sustenance, they stop dividing. If the cells don't divide, the tumor doesn't grow."
Researchers at the University of Chicago Medicine conducted the tests on human prostate tumors grafted into mice. After just six weeks of daily CAPE doses, the tumor volume growth rate decreased by half. "There are some important considerations," added Dr. Samadi, "First, this research has not yet been conducted with men. Second, CAPE doesn't kill prostate cancer cells and it only arrests their growth for the duration of the treatment. Still, this initial success could help us learn more about early stage prostate cancer and the disease's development."

Inflammation of the prostrate is serious. Usually only a long program of alternating antibiotics, ejaculations and sitz baths can help remedy the problem.

Active surveillance or watchful waiting. If your symptoms are not too bad, your doctor may tell you to wait before starting any treatment to see if the problem gets worse. You will need a checkup each year. You can start treatment later on if your symptoms

My father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Because of his age, he is not a candidate for surgery. So his local Dr has started him on hormone therapy to decrease the levels of testosterone. He gave him a hormone shot to be repeated every 4 months,
Your father's cancer may be very treatable depending on his Gleason score, PSA doubling rate and his general health. If your father is in good health (excepting the cancer), then hormone therapy may not be a good choice. It will make him feel tired,

I know of some medicines that help regulate hormone levels and lower testesterone levels, but mostly in women. Am not sure in cases of cancer as in your father. The medicines are Diane 35, Aldactone, Diamet, Fincar.
