Despite the summer heat, Brandy Rousselle doesn't leave the house without covering up.
"It's actually to the point that I'm very reluctant to wear shorts," she said.
Like 85 percent of American women, the busy mom of three has battled cellulite since she was a teenager.
"No matter what I do - target exercises, creams, whatever - it just doesn't go away," Rousselle said.
Now 35, she's signed on for a new laser procedure called Cellulaze . It's a one-time, minimally-invasive treatment that blasts cellulite from beneath the skin.
"Ideal candidate is a woman, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s with moderate cellulite," said laser expert Dr. Jay Kulkin at Women's Institute for Health .
He said Cellulaze is designed to do three things: "What we're doing now is using a very unique technology, unique laser where we can melt the fat that's bulging, where we can actually divide the fibers that are pulling the skin down, creating those indentations and the cottage cheese appearance, and then we can tighten and thicken the skin."

How can I treat my cellulite before my holiday?
18.05.12
Q I HAVE bad cellulite at the back of my thighs. I'm going on holiday in September and I'm wondering if I can do anything to improve it before I have to bare all in a bikini.
A There is no magical cure for cellulite; it's simply a fact of life for most of us women. However, there are several lifestyle and dietary practices that you can adopt that can decrease the appearance and occurrence of cellulite.
Diet-wise, go for foods that are high in antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Essentially this means a high fruit and vegetable intake as well as eating plenty of oily fish and nuts and seeds.
Drinking plenty of water is also essential to an anti-cellulite diet because water helps to flush away toxins from the body. Try starting the day with a mug of warm water with the juice of half a lemon squeezed into it.
Avoid processed foods and those high in sugar and salt, and reduce alcohol and caffeine consumption.
Try dry skin brushing daily. Rubbing and increasing circulation in the areas where you have cellulite may aid in decreasing its appearance.
